  1. I have a cheapie Orion DVDC2002 DVD player, it's the one that has the DVD player and VHS player in one. I'm trying to play a DVD-R that I created using Sonic MyDVD v.5.0. When I play the DVD on another player, it works, but on this Orion, it shows that it's "reading" and then makes this dreadful clunking sound and never ends up playing the disc. I checked the compatibility list and it shows that this player should play the DVD-R format, but for some reason, it just makes that sound and never plays the DVD. Any thoughts or suggestions short of buying a new DVD player? Thanks so much!

Try burning with a different program,Nero for example, use it's DVD VIDEO template. You can download a demo. Sonic MyDVD may burn using UDF/ISO mode. Some DVD players have trouble with UDF/ISO mode.

And some players have trouble with Neros DVD template.....

You might use up a couple of disks doing it (especially if your player doesn't support RW) but it will be a bit of trial and error before you find a combination that works (I used up 10 discs before I found a way to get DVD-Rs working in my player)

All players aren't created equal either.......

  5. I would go with the Nero option but I wouldn't use the DVD Video template. Instead, use the DVD UDF/ISO template. When you come to burn the disc, you will have a pop menu which gives you a series of tabs. On the UDF tab, make sure that UDF 1.02 is the option to be used (not UDF 1.05)

    Thanks
