  3. DVDShrink yo. 'Nuff said.

BTW: You'll need something to burn it back, this guy only rips and shrinks if necessary.

1.) You need a program that will copy the DVD to your HDD. The best one is DVD Decrypter. The other option is SmartRipper but I have only been using nothing but DVD Decrypter for a long time. I think it works better than SmartRipper like 99.9% of the time!

2.) Once you copy the DVD to your HDD you want to copy it back to DVD-R and this can be done with DVD Decrypter but only if the original DVD is single layer. In that case you RIP in ISO mode then WRITE in ISO mode. Very nice and easy. However if the DVD is dual layer then you need a program to help you after you RIP it with DVD Decrypter. The best method then is to RIP it in FILE MODE and SELECT ALL FILES then process it with either DVD2ONE or DVDShrink or DVDFab.

DVD2ONE must be purchased. DVDShrink is free and somewhat similiar to DVD2ONE but I feel that when doing this method (which compresses or transcodes the movie to a smaller size) that DVD2ONE works better than DVDShrink most of the time.

DVDFab is another program that you must buy but it is very unique in that it will automatically split the DVD across 2 DVD-R discs. In this way there is absolutely NO loss in quality.

Again you only need DVD2ONE or DVDShrink or DVDFab when working with a dual layer DVD copy.

    P.S.
When you use DVD2ONE or DVDShrink or DVDFab you will end up with a DVD folder full of files. The best way to burn this is to use the CLASSIC VERSION of ImgTools to create an ISO IMAGE file which can then be burned with DVD Decrypter. This method works great and is freeware. If you want to spend the money to speed the process up then you can buy RecordNowMax which allows you to BURN without the ISO IMAGE creation step of ImgTool

Well I might as well chime in. I too like DVD Decrypter and as a side benefit you can use it to even burn data ISO's to CD-R's. After the rip I go with InstantCopy 8. Although it cost about $40 and is a bit slow (for good reason, it's doing something right), when it comes to shrinking/squeezing/burning DVD's it's video quality is simply the best out there. And it's great for dropping various elements completely from the original (logos, trailers, warnings) in a seemless fashion. In a head to head comparision with Nero Recode (which some seem to like), using the same complete 7+G dual layer disc the difference in video quality is very noticable. And dropping certain elements in Recode and others leaves you with a still picture in it's place.

You really made yourself look childish in that rediculous PM you sent me. As a matter of fact, you sent two. How long did it take you to make up that stupid song about me. You could have taken that time to read some guides instead of asking such basic, simple questions. Or would that have been to hard for you to do?

If you call telling someone to do a simple search, giving people a hard time then maybe you are the one that needs to grow up.
