  1. Ok i'm a newbie. I've looked around and cannot find what i need. All help would be apreciated.

I have several AVI's that I want to convert to DVD format and put them on one DVD disk with menus.

    By way of information:
    Each AVI is 700meg
    Width 496 pixels
    Hight 384 pixels
    Duration 1 hour
    Bit Rate 126kbps
    Audio format MPEG Layer-3
    Frame rate 29 frames/second
    Data rate 197kbps
    Video sample size 24bit
    Video compression DivX codec

I tried to convert one of them using TMPGE, but it wanted to use the entire 4.7gig just for one. Even though it finished converting after 25% it just kept encoding blackness. Obviously this was not the right way to go.

What I would like is to convert say 4 (or 5) of these AVI's to DVD format and place on one DVD with menus.

    Thanks for you time.

Sounds like the avis may have VBR audio. Open them in virtualdub, if you get a warning about VBR audio, thats the problem. If that is the case, try searching the forum for a solution, it has been covered MANY, MANY times.
