  1. Can anyone please give me detailed instructions on how to use DVDit to make a DVD - nothing fancy, no menus, themes anything, just video. I was able to down load my video from HI8 thru MiniDV into .Avi files. I have the latest DVDit program, $199 thank you very much! But I just dont understand the program. Please help. Thanks

This is a place to get assistance. This is not a place where you can expect someone to hold your hand through every step of the process.

If you want help, there are a few guidelines to follow.

1st, don't expect fully detailed instructions on how to do something complex in a single post.

2nd, make your questions very specific. Things 'how do I create a DVD with application X' get treated with short shrift as they suggest the poster has not really tried, certainly hasn't made use of the many guides here and elsewhere and definatley hasn't searched the forum for help.

3rd, accept what you get. Nobody here *HAS* to help anybody. Its all voluntary. As much as everbody tries to make new members welcome, those that expect too much usually find themselves dissapointed.

Now, if you have a specific question, feel free to ask it. Asking for a personal user guide will get you no where.

Oh, and don't forget to mention which version of any particular app you are using, they do vary a lot.

One more thing, read the forum AUP, read the guides, and search the forum before posting, most questions have been answered before.

  5. Hmmmmmm - all the energy you have put into being a sarcastic tech-weenie could have easily addressed my question. FYI - I did spend several hours trying to make a simple DVD, simply a copy of the source video (no buttons, menus - nothing) and the instructions were anything but clear. If you dont want to help or cant - keep your sarcasm to yourself!

There's a guide on my site for this program, read the DVDit! HELP files to learn how to slightly alter your process for using AVI ... but be warned ... the DVDit! MPEG encoding sucks big time. You'd be better off encoding in TMPGEnc Plus or something.

No sarcasm in my posts. Like it or not I was serious.

And your initial post says that where exactly?
