I'm having problems reading DVD's burned by my Panasonic E80 in Windows XP. I was wondering has anyone else run across this problem? The same discs work in my JVC DVD player and my kids Playstation 2. But XP says its a unknown format. The DVD-Rom is a Sony DDU 1611 if it helps.
Thank you,

I don't know the age of your computer, but I've found that older DVD drives can't read DVD-R's, or struggle with them. I had burned a DVD with avi eps of TV shows for a friends laptop, and it wouldn't read it. Had the same problem on my 2 year old laptop. My new Sotec ($600 us) laptop handles them beautifully though. So, it's most likely an age issue.

Panasonic makes a new kind of extension *.VBR I think which probably isn't recognized by your reader.

The Manual says to finalize the DVD-r on the e80 to create a DVD-video disc. MAY NOT PLAY IN SOME PLAYERS....
