  1. ShiZZZoN-
    Hey everyone.

I need help with installing win98 back ok
I have win2000 now but of course it is compressed in NTFS and i need to delete the partition, create a new partition, format, then install win98.

    Heres the 2 problems-

Can someone please tell me how to go into dos and delete the win2000 partition(theres just one), then recreate a new partition using win98, thanx.

First 2 people to answer will have access to my ftp forever, no ratio

  2. All you need is to boot to dos or command prompt. Run fdisk >> it will ask to you want to recognize the ntfs partition, then delete the non-dos partition.

I think that's what your asking.

  3. A) i dont need access to your FTP server, unless it gives out cash..LOL

    B) you can set up FTP server, but you cant install/remove an OS properly??..LOL

    C) first, you cant go into DOS, because DOES NOT read NTFS partitions...if you are simply going to wipe w2k and install 98 (why you want this crap OS is beyond me)...I'll assume you have a 98 startup diskette, if not GET ONE, simply put it in, make sure your bios is set to boot off the floppy BEFORE all other bootable devices...when you reach the "A:" prompt...run "fdisk", delete partition, then create a new one....then install 98, that simple....if you dont have a startup disk, Im sure you can download an image of one from the net...or email me, and I'll place it on my FTP server along with partition magic...

  4. Or.

Boot with the win9x cdrom >> press f8 >> boot to command prompt >> look for fdisk >> run fdisk >> recognize the ntfs as non-dos >> delete the non-dos.

    Hey Shizzon

That's right. Then, once the old NTFS partition is gone, create a new DOS partition in FDISK and reboot with the boot disk or with the bootable win98 cd and format the parition. I'm not sure if the windows 98 setup will format an unformatted partition for you. If it will great, if not then format it with the boot disk.

  6. Your right about booting to dos from 2k, I didn't read it properly.

You can also boot with the 2k cdrom, delete the logical drive/partition and about the installation.

PS: are you giving out cash?? call me a 1-800-555-1212.
