    ive just downloaded virtual dub 1.5.10 and wanted to use it to capture the DV output of my canopus ADVC 100, but it does not recognise it, in fact is it supposed to capture DV at all!!

    Virtual Dub does not capture DV. If you want a free DV capturing program, try DVIO.

    Virtual dub is great for filtering and working with DV after you transfer it to your HD with DVIO or WinDV or the like. You will need to install a DV codec for Virtual dub. It won't transfer or capture DV. It also works good for frameserving to TMPGEnc.
