I have used DVDShrink and InstantCopy8 to backup a whole DVD, including menu and extras with some audio streams taken out. I have gone as low as 55% on the main movie and 55% on the the extras for one DVD. For me, the main movie has some artifacts/pixelation at 55%, but only at times in the background and during fast action scenes. But the extras are all blocky at 55%. They were compressed at the same percentage. I am wondering if programs such as DVDShrink and InstantCopy8 compress the movie differently from the extras. It would be better if it used the same compression quality for the extras as it does for the main movie. Just my observation.

55% is very heavy compression with DVDshrink even if you have a 29'' tv!!!
I wouldnt recommend anything lower than 75-80% compression!
The extras are usually full screen instead of widescreen so they do require higher bitrates! Meaning that 55% compression looks much worse on a fullscreen title than it does on a widescreen one.
Hence the blockiness-pixelisation becomes more obvious in them extras you mention rather than the main movie itself (which mainly is widescreen).
Hope this helps!
