Resolution Question

What are the dimensions for resolution if I want to create a movie that will fit onto my tv screen?

Depends on your tv. And how you are going to display your movie.

If you got a wide screen you need to create a widescreen movie or else you can use the settings explained in the blue sections on the left. For each medium (VCD, SVCD or DVD) you need other settings.

If you are going to play your movie with a dvd-player to your tv then the above method will work. If you are going to play it from you computer to your tv it is a whole other story. It then depends on the resolution of your video card.
