  1. This has happened maybe twice before. I deleted a couple files that I thought I was finished with, but I forgot to do one more thing. So I think "no problem, recycle bin". But I check and the files aren't there!

I know you can permanently delete stuff with the shift key, and files too big won't go to the recycle bin. But it's not the case with either of those. Besides, there's a pop-up that tells you that's what happened.

Is my recycle bin (which was almost empty when I deleted the files, so not full if that's what you're thinking) broken? Or did the pop-ups not work for some reason?

    This happen to anyone before?

ps I feel kind of weird asking this stuff here, but people on this forum seem to know everything. And it takes forever trying to find answers at the microsoft website.

  2. Right click your trash/recycle bin. Click the tab called "Global", uncheck the box "Do not move the...." you want to increase the size of your trash too. Do you have Norton System works or anything like that?

  3. The "do not move" box was already unchecked.

This doesn't happen all the time. Only maybe like three times ever. I figured the first time was a glitch or that I did something, so I thought it'd never happen again. If that box was checked nothing would ever go into the recycle bin but there's a couple things in there.

The size of my trash was set to 10% of a 75gb harddrive.

Not sure what Norton System is. I have the Norton Anti-virus stuff. So the answer's probably no, I don't have it.

I figure there's a bug or something, not a setting somewhere. Otherwise it would happen more often.
