  1. Hi, maybe that already was discussed, but I couldn't find it.
Anyway, could somebody explain me how to make thumbnails
    look sharp not blurry?
I've tried frame from the movie as well as stanalone BMP and/or JPG files,
result is always the same, - blurry thumbmails.
Second issue. Is there a way to change thumbnail's aspect ratio?
I use latest 1.5.15.49 version (trial).

Your trying to shrink a 720x480 screen capture down to a 50x50(?) image. Of course it's going to look blurry. Try doing a screen shot, then cutting out a much smaller image then re-sizing that.

  3. Gazorgan, I said, I tried standalone...
And of course I resized it and sharped to fit into the actual size.
In my case it was 240x175.
I did not put ALL details and ways I tried in the post, of course
I just mentioned that I could NOT change aspect ratio of the thumbnail.

  4. Well, it's getting worse.
If I use images in thumbnails they are NOT displayed,
when I play DVD on any (soft or hard) DVD player !?
I send these questions to the GUYS, but not sure if they
would answer, - I use trial verion

I'm looking at one of my TV compilations. I'm not sure of your definition of 'blurry'. I mean the buttons are small, but I can tell what the clip is from a selected frame with no trouble, this on a 20" bedroom TV. This disk is all animation, I don't have a standard TV disk with me to clarify, but I don't recall having a problem. But then I don't expect to recognize a TV episode from a 40x40 button.

  6. Ok, here is the answer from the GUYs:

There is a difference for the preview area between Menu edit window and
the real image. You have taken a misunderstand from here, "Specify the
thumbnail frame-image" allow you select a BMP or JPEG or others format
image file as your "frame" of thumbnail-image, by the way, TMPGEnc DVD
Author don't support image format as thumbnail-image. So you have the
    result below.
    --------------------------------------------
I just highlighted the main part.

  7. Have you seen what the actual thumbnail will look like on a TV screen? I have authored over 20 DVDs using TMPGEnc DVD Author and all my thumbnails looked blurry during the "Create Menu" stage. Once my DVD was burned and viewed on a 27" TV they look fine.

  8. Well, my TV is not that good as my computer
I run created DVD (VOB) with WinDVD and see blurry thumbnails
For the TV (20'') I have to make them (thumbnails) much bigger
to see if it's TV problem or DVD, 'cause so far they are blurry on TV,
    with the size of 264x160
