I am just beginning to burn with DVD X Copy Platinum 3.2.1 software on a Sony DRU 500 External drive, updated with the latest firmware, using BeALL 1x-4X DVD-R General Purpose Media.
I have always had good luck with this software and this hardware in the past. I am having trouble burning a Sopranos multi episode DVD. The menu plays fine but when I try to play an episode, it starts playing as a choppy or pulsating screen with the sound the same and then quits in a couple of seconds.
When I made this backup copy, it seemed to be writing much faster than usual. Right before this copy, I made a copy of a different Sopranos multi episode DVD using Memorex DVD-R media with no problem.
Meritline recommended the BeALL media for my Sony drive. Has anyone had this type of experience in the past? Thanks for any input.

thats because that 321 studios software isnt that good at all, in fact it sucks ... The reason you are having troubles is because its an episode disc. What DVDxcopy does is when a movie exceeds a certain file size it only copies the main section. Well on an episode disc (unlike a normal movie) there is no one obviously large main movie section. So it doesnt know what to do.
Use shrink, and burn the files with nero or something, you will be happy with the results
