Hi everyone!
I have a problem here that I need help with.
I ripped an entire DVD to my HD with DVD Decrypter (which I usually do). The DVD is a DVD9 because the they put the movie on there twice. Its an MST3K DVD and they have both the original movie and their comic version on there...I just want their version and leave the original out.
I just want to remove one of the movies and leave everything else there (menus, extras, etc.).
Now, I used DVD Shrink (version 3.0 Beta 5), but it won't work properly because when I select "Re-Author" and I see the "New DVD" file, I can't bring over the entire files from the original window...instead I have to bring over the "Title 1...Title 2...Menu 1....Menu 2", which doesn't work right in the end! I recorded it onto a DVD-RW and then it just plays them all straight through non-stop and you can't select anything with your remote...very bad.
I also tried using Instant Copy ver. 7, but I want to remove the extra movie, not downsize it, which is all I can do on there. Then I can only get the movie I want at 85%.
DVD X-Copy only works if you have the original DVD on hand, which I don't.
DVD Fab won't work either because it ends up either making 2 DVD's with both of the movies them, except they are split in two on each one, or it will just do the movie without any of the menus or extras (which I can do with DVD Shrink anyway).
So can anyone offer some advice or programs with some instruction on how to do this right?
Thanks!![]()

Try DVDStripper 2.0 to remove any unwanted parts and then use DVD Shrink to fit remainder to a DVD-5. Works for me.
The OldeMan -
here are a few simple options for you
get hold of InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor and enable title removal in IC7. Using this option may depend on your player and how it is affected by playing removed titles so it's best you try with a DVDRW first
use DVDShrink and select still pictures for the movie you don't want
use Ifoedit and strip out the movie manually using my guides or 2COOL's (his are more up to date)

OldeMan: I don't have DVDStripper so I can't try that out right now.
MackemX: I used the IC Editor, which looked pretty cool, but that didn't work out in the end either because when you choose to remove one of the movies, it removed both of them...so you couldn't choose just one of them. That sucked.
Then I tried using DVDShrink to make one of the movies a "still picture" but you can't because they are both located within the same file...you can't seperate them unless you use the "Re-Author" then you run into the same problem again with the "New DVD" file structure as I mentioned up above. Unless you just want the movie and not the menus or extras, but I do want to keep all of those...I just want to remove one of the movies.
Besides, when you use the "Still Picture" option, you are still using up like 500MB...I want to fully remove one of these movies.
Finally I tried searching for your guides and for "2Cools" guides on using Ifoedit on here, but couldn't find them through the Guides search.
Another DVD to try this out on is the new Alien Directors Cut DVD...try seperating the Directors Cut version and the normal theatrical version, which are both on the same DVD and you run into the exact same problem. I've been trying to remove the theatrical version and just keeping the DC version, but it does the exact same thing.
So does anyone else have any other suggestions on how to do this?
