I'm just starting in on DVD authoring, tho I have burned quite a few VCD's. I would like to convert some of my VCD fansubs to DVD. Altho I can get a program to string together the eps, for troubleshooting and tweaks I'd like to get a rough idea of how the files (.iso, .bup, .vob) on DVD's work. I took a quick look around on the site and found a lot of procedures for using the various programs, but nothing on the nuts and bolts. Can anyone give me a link?

Thanks
It looks like the DVD-video specs are heavily protected (NDA and $5,000 plus extras) and DVD player manufacture and copy protection use is expensive too, what with having to pay royalities and licenses.
