I noticed that the "guests" far out number the "registered" people online.
Why not limit the number of "guests" so that the "registered" users don't have to endure the slow response times? You could set a limit to 50 or so, and then if it exceeds the limit have the person redirected to the registration page, or a simple message stating the guest users have exceeded their limit and you can get immediate access if you register?
This might improve overall site performance without alienating the "guests"
Whacha think?

Personally, I think that would alienate perspective new members.
Willtgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
Then I would have to fix a login for the entire site...just fixing it for the forum doesn't help that much.
But I hate required logins.......but it is maybe necassasryry
