    DV_DateCode
    http://www.skydiver.de/stef/datecode_en.htm

    1. Get your date code out of AVI ( drag&drop avi into Dv_DateCode)
    2. Open your avi in VDub
    3. Apply subtitler filter and you're ready to go
    4. If you want to edit the date code get Sub Station Alpha

The problem is DV_DateCode can only grab the time stamp if and only if the avi file is max 2GB

the link i posted above is for DV Time Stamp , which is easier to use than DV_DateCode

Actually the latest version of DVDatecode, version 1.0, now handles files greater than 2GB.

yup, i agree with you but this is an alternative for free of charge instead of 10 bucks.

well good news then. it's getting better. is it up to 4GB limit or improve for unlimited AVI size?

I've used it successfully on files >4GB that were captured with Puremotion Editstudio 4. Haven't tried it on any other files.
