I'm trying to capture home movies from a Mini-DV camcorder, and I would like the filename to reflect what date and time the video was shot. Unfortunately, when I try to capture the video using Windows Live software, the original time/date does not seem to be recorded. Instead, the only file time/date is that of when the video was captured from the camera onto the computer.
I used to use a simple DV capture software that not only recorded the proper shoot date, but even had the option to use the original time/date in the filename. Now, I've got a new computer and can't remember what that software was called.
Any current software that would do this?

The author released the source code earlier this year.
On his website, he states:
Personally, I find it does exactly what I want, and very reliably, so there's no need for further development.Development of WinDV has been stopped. DV format is getting superceded by MPEG4 HD video, so further development of WinDV makes no sense for me. -
I installed WinDV, and it seems to be working fine in Windows 7 64bit. Thanks for the help.
I still don't understand, though, why this feature isn't standard in currently popular video software. Almost all photo software preserves the original shot date/time. In fact, most photo software relies on this information for organizing files.
