  1. Hi,
I'm using Sonic DVD Architect and I've run into an annoying snag. When I prepare the DVD, it renders all the files (22 hours!!!) and I see all the files in the temp directory... DVDA1.mp2 DVDA2.mpt etc etc.
Then when it moves to the "preparing" portion of the process it haults with the error : "could not write file because of an unknown error".
When I check the folder all of the temp files are gone, or replaced by one small file.

Any help with this severe frustration would be great.

    Thanks!

I had almost the exact same problem, except I got a wierd hex-dump error message. I looked all over the Sony DVDA message boards and the one person who had the same problem never got a reply to his question. Never did figure it out and got tired of trying...

I use DVDA all of the time and rendering tkes about 15 minutes. What is the file type of your source audio and video? 22 Hours sounds like a very long rendering time. I have only had long rendering times when I tried to author DVD non-compliant source files.

    This is so much fun!

  4. Yeah... What file types are you importing? I go straight from Vegas Video to DVD-A and rendering the dvd only takes 10-20 minutes tops.
