Can someone please explain to me why is it that when I capture video from my vhs with my hauppauge wintv pvr 350, using wintv 2000 the captured file plays back fine, but when I author the mpeg file with tmpge dvd author, or dvd lab, the audio is out of sync half way through the captured file................heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

Try a different capture program, such as Virtualdub.
Do you capture direct to avi or direct to mpeg?
If it's the former, check if its out of sync at that point, that would eliminate TMPGEnc Author.
What's the quality of your source like, particularly at the point where the audio and video becomes out of sync?
Have you captured more than once, to assess if the issue occur's at exactly the same point?

I capture directly to mpeg1/2. It seems like the original capture is fine. Can virtualdub capture mpeg1/2? The quality of the vhs tape i'm capturing is like new.
