  1. I'm building a new computer but I can't decide whether I want to go with the Asus A7N8X Deluxe, or the Soyo SY-KT400 Dragon Ultra (Platinum Edition). I've always been partial to Asus, but my decision always seems to boil down to Asus vs Soyo.

The reason I've always decided on Asus was because I bought an Aopen for my first homebuilt, and it was complete garbage. I ended up replacing it within three months, with an Asus, and I've been hessitant to use anything else since. So my question is, should I just stick with Asus again or is the Soyo worth checking out? Any insight anyone can offer is appreciated.
When did the word "beer-drinking" become an insult anyhow? I get these letters that start out, "Why don't you and your beer-guzzling buddies go and . . ." It takes YEARS of practice to guzzle. What's so dang wrong with it?

  2. Well, I'm not a user of either, but I have been looking at the Soyo motherboards.

People say Asus seem pretty reliable and many get them out of habit because they feel they do their job without hassle.

On the other hand the Soyo motherboards have some good features and nice little extras, but they are pretty expensive and I think that Asus boards have some better features.

It's all down to what you want it for and specs. If you have known people that use Asus and they are okay you should be fine with one, but if you like the features on the Soyo get that.

Just compare the boards and think of the components you will be using and if you will be planning any future upgrades and if they will support them.

  3. i have the asus a7n8x deluxe currently, i have built 3 systems with this board ranging from 2600 xp 2700xp and my 3000 xp. dual channel 3200 ddr, 5.1 audio, sata raid, six usb 2.0, firewire, dual LAN, easy overclocking and a whole lot more. i have been very happy with these boards and have had zero problems. Only tricky part is if your installing the new sys with a sata drive right off the bat, copy the sata drivers off the mobo cd off another sys. When you toss in your windows disk the initial screen will ask you if you want to install 3rd pary software. hit the corresponding key and install the sata drivers, then you can format the sata drive. Other wise it wont be detected.

  4. Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and bought the A7N8X, and so far I'm quiet satisfied with it. I really like how easy it is to overclock with this mobo. I've never tried overclocking before, so I'm still a little apprehensive about messing around with the settings too much.

Asus, cause Soyo is cheap. Trust me I just replaced my Soyo and I have a friend who used to build computers for a local store that used Soyo, some of their higher end boards are ok but Asus should whoop 'em easy.
