    Which mode when watching a dvd do you think sounds better...provided you have an A/V receiver that can decode either.

    I was curious because I watched scarface in both and liked the DTS audio better.

  2. DTS is better if you have a good setup.

    but not everyone has a DTS setup.

    also if you're coverting dvd9 to dvd5 and you keep the DTS track you'll lose quite a bit of picture quality. i dont ever keep the DTS track.

    i like DTS, but not at the expense of quality.

    I don't see why the DTS track needing more room is an issue unless you're playing "backups" of movies you own. Just buy the damn DVD if you want both video and audio quality I've never mastered a DVD with DTS, mostly because the cheapest available DTS mixer probably cost a fortune and because we don't have dual-layer writers available yet.

    With digital optical and 6.1 support I'll got DTS anyday.
