    hello!

I got a couple of mpg streams which Nero won't recognize as it is a Videocd compatible mpeg stream. Nero ask me to turn off v2.0 compatibility (and making the stream some 7 (!!!) minutes longer) or to re-encode the file to Videocd format BUT when I select this option Nero hangs up.

Someone please know of a stand-alone program who can re-encode non-Videocd format mpeg files to Videocd mpeg files??

    thanx in advance!

    Davy

yes, TMPGenc can make a VCD compatible mpeg file but I found this out AFTER I encoded some 6 movies to .mpg, and to encode them again (mpg to mpg) creates a bit loss of quality I guess
No, I'm searching for a look-a-like encoder which Nero uses to reencode the stream so that it meets VCD standards... this process only takes some 2 minutes to complete.

  3. Try demuxing then remuxing (with VideoCD compliant checked) in TMPGEncoder

Was your VCD original compliant with VCD Standards? Or is just some random MPEG-1 file you have? If it really was VCD Compliant, try running one of thos MPEG-fix programs. Forgot what they were called... =|
    or VCDGear might too...
