USB 2.0 = 480 Mb/sec and USB 1 = 12 Mb/sec. Anyway, I just did a MB, CPU, Memory, Video Card Upgrade. My new MB includes USB 2.0, however I only have USB 1.1 devices (i.e., printer, scanner, digial camera). My question is really simple. Before I had USB 2 if I used the printer and scanner at the same time they would share the 12 Mb/sec and tended to step on each other. With USB 2 do these devices share the 480 Mb/sec bandwith and; therefore, each operate at their top USB 1 speed of 12 Mb/sec and not interfer with each other?

  2. All your USB 1 devices will only go as fast as USB 1, so having many connected and being used at the same time for USB 2.0 will not affect each other.

I am not totally sure on the sharing aspect, if they share the bandwidth, or if each is independant. USB 1 is so slow in comparison to USB 2.0, that it won't really matter anyway.

  3. please test it out and YOU can tell US... see tomshardware.com they did a comparison of multithreaded and non multithreaded hubs (usb2.0)... see.. you didnt even know about that

The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.

  4. I think that test was actually comparing hubs with multiple translation units (i.e., USB1.1 <--> USB2) vs. hubs with only one translation unit.

Not surprisingly, hubs with multiple translation units can make a big difference, though it can be difficult to find information on a particular product.
