Should the 2X ripping speed limitation that most dvd-roms/burners apply to non copyrighted discs?
I have dvds made in a standalone dvd recorder which have no CSS and are single layer. When ripping with DVDecrypter, ripping speed stays at 2x on an LG 8161 dvd-rom(master) and an Iomega burner(slave). Identical ripping speed when using either ISO or File mode.
Both drives have DMA enabled.

I think the speed limitation is a function of the firmware on the drive and is independent of the type of DVD.
