Hey there everyone. Well, I am fixing another laptop for a buddy. Man I am a good friend. However, this one might be a lost cause.
He has a Compaq Presario 1700 and it won't turn on. The last time it worked he said he accidently spilled a tiny tiny amount of water on it. Half of shot glass about he said. It spilled only on the touch mousepad though.
Now I can plug it in, it says the battery is charging and everything. Then when I go to push the on button, the led lights up like its on but I have no hard drive or cpu movement. Atleast none that I can hear and you can usually hear these things.
I am guessing this is probably a lost cause but any suggestions are welcome. Anyone have any suggestions? I am thinking about taking it apart and seeing if there is anything disconnected but this laptop is almost impossible to get apart. Thanks for any suggestions.
Hatz
