  1. I just purchased a liteon xj-hd166s 16x dvdrom drive hoping it would rip faster than my 2x pioneer. I was disappointed to find it is only ripping at 4x. I am running windows xp pro sp1 with the drive as the master and a sony 500a as the slave on the secondary channel. I have 2 ide hard drives on the primary channel. All my ide drives are using a transfer mode of ultra DMA mode 2. I have also installed the forceaspi v4.6 drivers. I have updated the firmware to the most recent D166SDS1A firmware. I have tried ripping 2 dvds (the man with the golden gun & scarface). I have tried both dvd decrypter and smartripper with both the same results. Is there anything else I can do to make the drive rip faster?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. How is your drive installed. Slave or Master to your hard drive?

    Thanks.

  7. Do you have it on the same channel. I two ide hd on the primary channel and then my liteon and sony 500a on the secondary channel.

    Thanks.
