Hi, I was wondering how would I go about making a back-up of my EA Game Def Jam Vendetta, I burned a successful copy although it stays at the "Loading" screen. Can somebody help me with this problem, thank you.

**THIS IS STRICTLY FOR BACK-UP PURPOSES**

  2. I was under the impression that if you did this your ps2 had to be chipped. I may be wrong, do a google search you will probably get a better response.
    If it's wet, drink it

Yes, my ps2 has a no-solder modchip v7. Does anyone know why it freezes at the Loading screen? Is it because it is an EA Game?

Well 99% of any DVD-R never needs patches
    What game is it?
Is it an import EA game?
    Is this a dvd-rip?

The EA protection is easily defeated by the swap method

    Could be
    1. A bad burn (if you reburn on verbatim or ritek DVD-R media at 1x and it still doesnt work you can eliminate this scenario)
    2. A game that the swap magic 2 disks wont boot
    3. Laser might need cleaning(if it boots all other games you can eliminate this scenario)

Could most likely be number 2

There is a new swap magic that just came out today officially that is supposed to eliminate this problem if 2 is your scenario

If worse comes to worse you just might have to use the original instead of your backup of that particular game.

If you need need some chippping advice let me know.

It is an American EA Game, Def Jam Vendetta... No Import. I have no-solder modchip v7 with the Swap Discs. It boots up good but stops and freezes at the screen where it says "Loading" (After the game has booted). Now my question is how would I patch a global image? I know you can patch .iso's and .bin's but how about .gi's? If this doesn't work perhaps I should try Verbatim Discs or Ritek, I currently use Memorex... Now this is the first time I've done this so I don't know about any other games... The thing is I don't want to be wasting alot of discs on 1 game. But thanks for all the help you've given me so far.

Ok as far as I have know Def Jam Vendetta should work with swap magic with no problem if its a DVD-R. There are no patches that I know of to try to fix this disk it might be a bad burn. I dont want you to waste a disk on my account but I think you might have to do it to see if it works or not it should work. Now if its a dvd-rip cd-r you will not be able to play it unless you apply a rip kit

What it is, is a DVDRom game burned on a Memorex DVD-R. I thought you only need ripkits for if you burn it on Cd-r's. (I'm not doing that). The only thing I'm questioning (I know for a fact you know more about this then me ps2daddy), is that if it was a bad burn... would it had still loaded up from the swap discs still? Because it loads up, but then freezes at the loading screen for the game itself. But let me know what you think I should do, Should I buy Verbatim DVD-R's and burn at 1x? If so I guess that'll take care of my problems.

Yep sometimes bad burns can do that.
I have read a least 2 other people that have that dvd-r and it worked fine with the swap magic disk
I have a messiah2 with that game so I couldnt verify that personally but I beieve this to be true. Reburning the games from the source onto good media should solve your problem (unless your original was scratched)

Ok, I have one last question. Alright, from what I hear from others is that my media is wrong. That I should be using Verbatim and burn at 1x. Is this right? Oh and does RecordNow Max have to have certain settings when building a global image? That's it, that's all I need to know now.

I use toast and I dont use recordnow max as far as I know UDF iso is probably just fine and what the image is most likely

As far I know you choose make image and then burn that is it or you select the image you have and burn (like burning a cd)
