  1. I am having a problem with analog capturing.

I am using pinnacle studio 8. it captures DV signal no problem, but analog is 2-5 seconds out of sync. I saw that this program is notorious for this, so I tried Ulead, and still the same result.

Dazzle DVD wont even read the analog signal.

The camcorder is an old GE CG818 - It has mono sound output. (1 cable for audio, one for video, no S-video)

So I am thinking it is a problem with my capture card maybe?

I have an ATI all-in-wonder 9700 pro. My audio card is a Soundblaster audigy platinum ex 2. I am running a p4 2.8ghz, 1 gig ram, 200 gig HD, Asus p4p800 dlx motherboard.

I have already checked to see if there were any conflicts between the sound card and video card in terms of system resources (irq, etc..) but it seems fine. Video drivers are up to date.

    Any thoughts?

OK you probleme is a Soundblaster audigy platinum ex 2. OR your ATI all-in-wonder 9700 pro. TRY TO FIND THE LAST DRIVER FOR SOUND CARDS FIRST end try after.

Second tghings try to use the last driver for ati driver.

I DID HAVE THE SAME PROBLEME . I did fix the probleme with this configuration.

Asus p4p800 dlx motherboard. HAS A AUDIO inside of this cards.Try to use this audio instead of soundblaster ?
you must unstall your cards to doing that end after go to your bios systeme to put the audio on.

    good luck.

I did conctact ati end soundblaster . THE REPONSE IS CAME FROM ATI DEP THE SOUND CARDS (Soundblaster audigy platinum ex 2. ) HAVE CHANGE THE SYSTEME FROM THE OLD SYSTEME .

  3. Always use ATI MMC for capturing Analog Video whenever you can. I know it may sound easier to do it from withint Studio8, but you're only asking for bad quality and/or a/v sync issues.

If there is one thing MMC is good at, it's real-time Analog to MPEG.

I have been capturing realtime MPEG2 with ATI AIW 8500DV via analog using MMC 8.7 with no problems. Sound is always in sync.
