  1. I have an AVI file with a corrupt header (yes im sure this is the case, and I have several video-analyze programs to testify) and it always stops playing around the 1 minute mark....Anyway I downloaded some programs from this site (including Vdub and AVIfixed) to try and fix it. When seeing what I could do with VDub, I opened the file in the hex editor and saw the problem: there was a section of 0's in the script. So I figured if I delete this section I could play the rest of the file (someone else said this worked for them)...I just cant figure out what I can use to delete the 0's. Someone told me to remove it in the hex editor, but I cant figure out how (can you even edit in the hex editor?). Anyway, if the hex editor is the way to edit it, how can I edit the file using it?

Your header I do not believe you can delete anything in it. Compare it to a good header and just modify the data. Use the curser and just modify like you would in any document. MAKE SURE THE BOTTOM CHECK BOX THAT SAYS READ ONLY IS NOT CHECKED. Then just save the file when your done. Make sure you make a backup of your bad file too incase you screw up something.

Also you might try doom9.org and go to the avisynth usage forum and post your question. This is where I got the help for my corupt avi file problem.
