  1. I am a paraglider and flew a memorable flight last Saturday here in Chile. I used a Gopro Hero wide angle camera on my helmet that (should normally) produce [s:40f28cbb33]good quality[/s:40f28cbb33] .avi movies. After I copied the avi file on my mac, it wouldn't open, neither in quicktime nor in VLC. I keep getting the message
error -50, movie can not be recognized
    .

I've tried to repair it with Divx doctor 2 but get the message : a file was dropped on DD2 which DD2 cannot accept. Great!

The file is 350 Mb which corresponds to the video's 15 minutes length.

Please help me recover this nice shooting!

PS: and yes, I know, I'd better find another camera...

  2. Hello,

    Try free application Treasured
    http://aeroquartet.com/movierepair/download.html

It should give you a preview of your damaged file and explain the steps to get it repaired.

    Regards, BJ

From the company website, it's just using a Motion JPEG Compression, which should be no problem for the mac...

Hmmm. have you tried changing the .avi to .mov and trying to open it in Quicktime? It should not be the solution, but I have had success doing that before...
