hello,
i shoot dive videos(35 mins max footage) and am on a tight schedule as far as getting them on to dvd for customers,i use fce & toast 6,i dont have qt pro just standard version,is there a faster way than the following to get my dvd's sorted?
1.capture to fce-add soundtrack and export as dv-pal(best setting),sound-16 bit stereo.
2.Drag into toast,create basic menu,use best setting,pal.
3.Hit record and watch the grass grow while it encodes.
i did try exporting as qt but i was getting dropped frames when i played back the file,dv-pal is smooth.
does using the toast chapters option add time?
i saw a post say that best setting is good for motion so i use that cos i got lots of panning and fast moving fish in the video.
any advice much appreciated, please bear in mind i am living on a primitive island in thailand so cant get any downloads or additional software to help me out.
thanks

Go ahead and try the standard quality in Toast and compare the difference in quality. It may be you don't see enough difference to let the grass grow that tall. Other than that, it seems to me your method is a very efficient way to import from a DV camera, add a separate soundtrack and create a DVD.
