  1. Just wondering what you guys mean when you say (example) "200 burns and 1 coaster."

LOL, you may as well what people think about their God.
Im sure everyone will have all different answers from a failed burn..ieartialy burned then stopped. Or maybe the burn went well but it was encoded wrong and wont play on anything but the computer, or wont play on their dvd palyer or come to think of it, thats pretty much all what a coaster is...unusable!

A piece of useless plastic that will not work under any condition.

It is best used as a drink coaster, skeet for a firing range, frisbies for the dogs or kids, etc.

  4. The first two, minor problems can be caused by anything, and given how many people here like transcoders even expected. A coaster is a disc that's unreadable and thus unplayable. It really is good for nothing expect to be used as a coaster.

Now there is a little wiggle room in there (old verisons of nero burning in UDF 1.05 which many players can not read). But coaster = dead/worthless, it's not a confusing term

Now 'high quaility 8.5GB DVD9 backup to a single VCD' that's a matter open to debate/discussion...
