  1. I need to rip from a DVD to something easy for WMP to read for a presentation. I have been somewhat successful using Amigo DVD ripper, however its off and on and as a demo only rips 1/3 of what I request.

I have downloaded like 4 different rippers and tried literally for weeks with no luck with any other program. They tell me my disc is locked or give me other errors. I just need to know what program would work best and why these other ones wont work. I have tried Super DVD Ripper, DVDx, 1st DVD Ripper, and IMToo Dvd Ripper. Im not an idiot altho it would seem so in this case. Any help would be great. I have looked on this forum as well so please don't flame me for not reading around, all the newbie help files are for DVD rip to VCD and are of little help.

    Thanks in advance,
    Paul

ripping to make a vcd is just as good. You can use wmp to view these files. You can also take these vcd files(mpeg)and condense them to an avi file and then use wmp, but you will need the proper codec to do this.

  3. When I say Vcd I should be more specific. I simply want a file format that WMP will understand without a codec (Win 2000 actually) I will burn it with the presentation on a data cd and then just copy back to the other computers hard drive. What format/program should I use...

Exactly Nomar. You can play a vcd mpeg without needing anything and it plays on wmp. By the way, did your dad spell your name backwards?

  6. LOL No thats definately just a nick name. As for the media stuff, Im using Super Dvd Ripper with some success now. I picked DVD to VCD instead of DVD to AVI. Its doing something now which is progress. To further complicate things, I'm taking this video and editing it with Ulead Studio. I know that this program can save the file in different formats ( I assume not know) and am curious what then would be the proper final format. That being said I suppose the format of the orginal video being edited doesn't matter as long as Ulead can edit it. Anyways any more help people can offer would be great.
