  1. Okay... I am new to DVD players and VCDs I recently bought a Samsung DVD-M105 DVD player, which stated "VCD compatible".

I checked this site as well, which also confirmed it plays VCDs. In fact it says "CDR Silver Layer"

I burned a VCD (as a test) using Nero burning ROM and it read and played as a VCD in my DVD-ROM drive on my pc but my DVD-Player insisted that the disk was not readable.

Can anyone help ... I need to know a few things

    1. What exactly does "CDR Silver Layer" mean... does it mean it only plays Silver CDRs ?

    2. my DVD-Player plays Audio CDS on CDRs ... does that mean that my DVD-Player Should read all CDRs ??

    3. What exact format do I need for DVD-Players to understand the disk ... resolution / colour level ... and what applications u recommend to burn and convert the VCD to play

And finally 4. Are there any known problems or specific things I need to do to my DVD-player / CDRs to get VCDs to play ... ??? Do I need a certain brand of CDr ?

    NE help is greatly appreciated

    Thanx

  2. Okay i just used TMPGEnc to convert my Mpg to VCD (PAL) format and burnt it to cd using nero .... (following this sites instrucutions)

Again it played on my PC but not on my DVD player.

Thus I have ruled out format problems... so its either a problem with my DVD player reading my CDR's (light green bottom) or anopther problem i am not seeing ... can someone help ?

BTW my questions on the previous post still stand
