Pentium 4 "Celerons" will be introduced in the third quarter of next year at 1.80GHz. The "Celeron" Pentium 4s will come in mpga478 packaging, include the 400MHz front side bus, and initially use .18 micron technology. While Intel may be using the Pentium 4 for "celeron" style value chips, these are based on the Willamette core and it seems now that the cache will be limited on the processors - a decision that may well be modified in the next nine months. The 2.53GHz flavours of Pentium 4 use the 533MHz front side bus and come with 512K of cache. Brookdale-E, Tehama-E and Brookdale-GL are all slated for launch during the same quarter. Tehama-E and Brookdale-E support the 533MB FSB - one for Rambus and one for SDRAM/DDR flavours. Intel has a separate roadmap for "small form factor" (SFF) processors and there will be a desktop 2.2"G" and Pentium 4 SFF launch and Intel is also doing the same for PIII-1.133G at 30 watts.

I am personally looking forward to the Northwood P4's that will come out around mid to late 2002 (2.4Ghz+). By then the P4 will have more software support and show its potential: At the moment it is failing to do this. They will also have faster the faster FSB.

By then you will have a P4 with DDR333 Ram.
DDR333 is almost as fast as RDRAM.

DDR is a short term memory solution, its not the future. Personally I would rather have RDRAM - the prices should be considerably less by late 2002 and you said it - DDR333 is *NEARLY* as fast as RDRAM .
BTW, is that comparing DDR333 to current RDRAM, or future RDRAM?
Hopefully, there will be a better memory solution by then anyway.

How can you compare the performance of current RDRAM available today, with future DDR333 mid 2002? It is an unfair comparison. RDRAM is a much better technolgy than DDR anyway: Its just that RDRAM is owned by super capitalists that cant seem to get their ethics right (or their pricing).

yup. ICQ is cool. The programmer of the software made millions selling it to a US company.
