    it worked, it is now at 2.31 but now nero says that my drive is only a 2x max speed instead of a 4x and will not let me choose 4x at all... i don't understand what the problem could be.. should i try to flash it again... i used Dos when flashing by the way...

    There isn't a 2.31 for this drive. Latest is 2.23. What did you flash?

    oops, i meant 2.23 i don't know where i got 2.31 from... anyway, any ideas???
