  1. Hey, I have a quick question...

I have a lot of pictures and about 10 videos I want to put on a DVD.

Is it possible to have a picture slideshow and a couple of videos on the same DVD??

I probably have almost every software out there for video editing and DVD burning/authoring and so on. Can someone recommend a certain program? So far, I like Sonic MyDVD for the small stuff I do. I'm just not sure about being able to put a slideshow AND a couple of small videos on the same disc and to use the menu to separate them.

    Thanks for the help,

    CM.

Why not, I do it all the time. There is a little disk thingy at the bottom left that shows how much space you have left. You will always have size limitations no matter what you do.

  3. Sonic MyDVd is a pretty good program for that. I've did it a couple times. It will let you choose background music, slide duration, transition effects, and even manual slideshow.

I always resize my photos first, (like 1024x768 or 800x600) put them in a temp folder on hard disk, rename then to get the order I want. *(that's the problem with that program -- getting your photos to show in the order you want)*. Pretty simple really. The program will put a folder on your DVD with the pictures in it for future use. I use JPeG photos.

You can also make a slideshow movie in like Ulead VideoStudio. Add transitions, music, and whatever then encode to MPEG2 DVD. That works real good also. It's probably the only way to keep the music & audio effects in sync with the slideshow. The other way just plays the music at 1x and shows the photos at whatever speed it can. It won't be in sync.

    Good luck

  5. Thanks for the replies. I've used Sonic MyDVD before, so I'm sure I'll figure it out.

  6. I am using MGI Video Wave 5.0 by adding the pictures into library. Placed the order of pictures in the filmstrip on the top. Played around with the transition. Render it to mpeg 2 format. No need to worry about resolution because MGI will take care of that.

I authored MPEG 2 movies and the slideshow MPEG 2 created by MGI in to TMPGenc DVD author. Created the seperate chapter for slideshow and movies. Burn to Nero. Mission accomplished.

    Good luck
