  1. After installing the upgrade a SVCD burned using a layout created with 5.5.4.0 and it runs in my Mustek 300 without a problem.

When burning a SVCD starting with a fresh layout (even with the same MPEG2 files) the disk is not recognized in the DVD player.

Anyone has an idea what to try?
I did a complete reinstall already.

  2. Try to burn SVCD as Disk at once(DAO ). The default settings on Nero 5.5.5.1 is TRACK AT ONCE (TAO). My DVD player (Philips 751) has problem witdh disk burned with TAO !!

  3. ivonovak,
    thanks for the response.

    I am using DAO.
The really puzzling part is the following. I load an old layout, delete the MPEG2 files and reinsert the oriinal files again, burn the SVCD - and the player cannot read it. If I just burn it using the old layout without touching it - the player runs the SVCD.

No parameter was changed, and the scandata.dat was included using 5.5.4.0 too.

I too have had some problems authoring with 5.5.5.1. The previous version burned bin/cue files without problem. This new version makes every track the size of the bin, and can never find enough space on my disks. Luckily I had a copy of the older version and reverted back to 5.5.4.2

  5. bummblebee I also had the track problem .
try editing your cue in notepad or something.

    FILE "d:\Mirc\Movies\SVCD Movies\A.knights.Tale.SVCD.DVDrip-TWCiSO\CD1\Twc-akn1\twc-sakn1.bin" BINARY
    TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:00:00
    TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
    INDEX 01 00:06:00

    I deleted second track
