  1. This is really getting to me now - I am trying to convert a movie (23 FPS XVID) to a DVD complient disk. DivX conversion used to be fine - XVID is just a pain. The resulting DVD always has audio out of sinc throuhout the whole movie.

I have tried extracting audio etc, guides on this site (doom9's, the other one is a dead link), but still can't do it. I am using VirtualDub / VDub MP3 Freeze, BeSweet, and TMPGEnc.

    Please Help!
    Thx in Advance!!

You've said it yourself. Put your subject title into quotes in the search box on this page and you can read all of the horror stories.

I would hazzard a guess that it will not be worth the effort. You've just downloaded someone else's mistakes.

    But, best of luck. :c)

  3. Are you trying to convert it to PAL (25fps)?

  6. Ahev you scanned it for bad frames? And is the audio out of sync by the same amount throughout the film, or does it gradually go out of sync? In other words are the audio and video always, let's say, one second off throughout?

  7. Right then...

Extract the audio using nandub and then convert to 25 fps using ac3machine.

Now use the normal PAL DVD template in TMPGenc, use your preferred bitrate settings etc BUT in the Advanced Settings option make sure you tick "Do Not Frame Rate Conversion". Extract just the video stream.

Now use your preferred method of multiplexing and BINGO!

I had the same problems as you till I used this frame rate setting.

    Good Luck!

    Try this, may help:
    1) Open TMPGEnc and press Cancel if Wizard pops up
    2) Go to Option->Environmental Setting...->VFAPI plug-in
    3) Adjust the plug-in priorities (this is done by right clicking on
the plug-in and choosing Higher priority as many times as
    necessary) to match the following:

    DirectShow Multimedia File Reader.......3
    AVI2(OpenDML) File Reader................1
    AVI VFW compatibility Reader.............0
    CyberLink MPEG-2 Decoder.................0
    Microsoft MPEG-1 Decoder.................0
    Wave File Reader..............................0
    BMP/PPM/TGA/JPG File Reader...........-2
    DVD2AVI Project File Reader 1.76+.....-2*
    TMPGEnc Project File Reader 2.58......-2*

  9. Sorted!!! at last.
What version of TMPGEnc are you using?
Ive had the same problem with ac3 files and xvid and have been using verion 2.58

if you down load the free version 2.521 and download the ac3 decompressor found in the tools section on this web site you can load the AVI file right into TMPGEnc and use the same file for the audio and it will work, trust me.....
