    When I play dvds on my DV-343 about half the time the video is VERY hot (bright). The same dvds play fine in my older player. Just curious whether I got a bad one or if this is a problem with this model.

    Just bought a new 343 the other day, and it has no such symptoms. In fact, it's nearly identical to source. Can you exchange it or see if there's a firmware upgrade maybe?
