Dont know if this is just a local sale, but looks to be a decent deal at $1.20 per +R in a spindle. If you just do a search for this on their website, you will most likely get the full blown ridiculous price of $49.00, but if you check your local store circular on their site, then ur in business. Also checked a couploe other states and it was in there too.![]()

I bought the -R Imations for 29.99 AFTER MIR....found it strange that they stuck the spindle in a box and it didnt tell you what speed it was. Checked it out with DVDInfo only to find that they are 1x Riteks!!!! RETURNED!!! But the UPC on the spindle label is differnt then the box UPC..weird.
Using 4x media has spoiled me and now even 2x media is too slow to me anymore. I just ordered 2 spindles of 4x Memorex DVD-R from amazon for 29.99 each plus free shipping. Ordered 11/3...shipped 11/6...I'll get it 11/10 by UPS...pretty quick considering its free shipping and they tell you to expect 10-12 days until you get your stuff. -
Microcenter still has the RITEK G04's at 5 for 5.99 . Price is okay, but for local pickup it's great!

Yes...kinda miffed that only the +R is 4x while the -R is a crappy 1x

Flaystus,
People are reporting in this forum that some of 5 pack TDK 2x -R's at Microcenter are Ritek G04's (using media code identifier programs) and do actually burn at 4x if your drive is capable. There are also older TDK made TDK's that are truly 2x in the bundles. I think its hit and miss since they are all packed the same and say made in Taiwan. I apparently got some of the 4x Riteks.....this was a good news/bad news for me though...I have an older A103 drive in my Mac, and with a firmware update I can USE 4x discs but I can only burn them at 1x!!! yes..I can't even burn them at 2x. Looks like santa may need to bring me a new 4x drive for Christmas..( or an 8x drive if they're avaible by then). -
Yea, as a matter of fact that link i gave for the media at best buy also has a plexor 8x + & - dvd writer available.

Wow ok thanks for the info... I'm amazed that this is the first I've heard of this. I picked up 5 packs, guess we'll see in the morning if I "Gotlucky"
Either way is a good price for the disc in question if you ask me. -
So it turns out the ones I picked up are G04s, thanks for the info.

Yes it seems most of the TDK at Microcenter in Richardson TX are indeed Ritek G04s, if you want them hurry cause unless they have more in the back we just put a serious hit in their supplies.

can anyone tell me their experience with this 4x + media? any problems burning at 4x, specifically with the hp300i?
-
Yea, I wanna know that also. I havent bought any yet as I'm still working on my 4x tdk I got at staples a couple weeks ago for 14.00 per 10 pack in cases(wish I bought more than 3 ).
