  1. Hi all

I've got 6 x 30min episodes of Blackadder that Iwant to get onto 1 disc. I've converted each one to a m2v file with a separate ac3 file for audio but I'm not sure what I do next.

I guess I use DVDShrink, but do I

    1. Author 1 large dvd file with all 6 espisodes and shrink that
    2. Use DVDShrink to shrink each episode individually
    3. Use DVDShrink and load up all 6 individual epsidoes and shrink the lot simultaneously

For options 2 & 3 do I need to author the epsidoes first

    Thanks for your help

  3. I'm not too fussed.

A basic menu so I could select a particular episode would be nice but I could live with just hitting the 'next' button to go to the next episodes

  4. this is how i do it starting off with 6 avi files;

    1) check each file for video errors in virtualdub

    2) extract (and convert to 48000) to wav using goldwave

    3) encode each episode to dvd mpg using tmpgenc plus (i set the size to 15% of disc for each episode)

    4) use tmpgenc dvd author to author the dvd and make a menu to choose which episode

    5) burn with nero

hope that is of some help.

You stated that you have extracted video (.m2v) and audio (.ac3) files. Did you start from a DVD? If so, then DVDShrink can work with the VIDEO_TS folder directly.

On the other hand, DVDShrink can't help you with video and audio assets. You need a DVD Authoring program to work with them.

Please explain if your source is a DVD or you have AVI files (or what?)
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  6. I find it easiest when doing SVCD -> DVD (which is similar to what you're doing) to use DVDLab to create a simple menu and author the DVD (that's a tad too large - something like 5.0 MB instead of 4.7), then use DVDShrink with Deep Analysis to shrink it back down to 4.7.
This works very well for me.
