    hi all,

    can someone please tell me what software i need to rotate mpeg video 90 degrees

    You might try VirtualDubMod : open mpeg video, add rotate filter, save to avi file.
    AviSynth will do the same task but without a nice gui; you have to write a script.
    You need a mpeg encoder, like tmpgenc, if you want to save your video to mpeg format.
