Did anyone else see this game? For those of you that didnt, allow me to paint you a picture...top of the 9th, the Sox are down and come back 4-3 and the inning goes on to the bottom. A sacrifical bunt puts a runner on second and third. The A's need a decent hit to bring the runner home to take the game into overtime(at least). 2 outs, bases loaded, full count, and the Sox win it with a strikeout. What a game! Well, off to the colts game!

I watched the last part of the game. Great game. Hope you guys beat the Yankees. I hate the Yankees ... I'm a Braves Fan. Oh well, they've made the playoffs every year since 1991 (except for the strike year in 1994) and have only 1 World Series to show for it.I'm bum'ed out though ... the Cubs pitching was just too strong. Anyway, I'd like to see the RedSoxs and the Cubs in the World Series. Good luck.

I'm dont really like the A's...I'm from indiana and we dont have a major league team so I just take sides in every game. I'm not a yankee fan either just because they win everything. I know what you mean...I was rooting for the braves but the cubs pulled it off. You've got to hand it to them though, they played very well.

  4. That was a great game..and Boston has a lot of heart to come back and win THREE STRAIGHT GAMES...Oakland fans have to be absolutely sickened..I wonder who's more SICK...the A's fans or the TAMPA BAY BUC FANS.......i'm not a baseball fan...I only watch Basketball and Football..but a friend of mine had extra tickets to this past Sunday's games at PPS...with the Marlins and the Giants! What a game that was....even though i'm not a baseball fan..PPS was damn sure rockin'! Great game to see..and i'm glad I was there. I'll be back to see at least one of the Cubs games down here.

    LET'S GO MARLINS!!

Probably the buck fans. The Boston Oakland game was really close and you have to give it up for boston...they really pulled it off. But I say the buck fans are sick because the colts were down by 21 points and came back. I gave up hope after the third quarter and switched to the baseball game and came back out of curiosity afterwards and luckily saw the bucks defeat. GO COLTS!!!

...Yep...apparently Dusty Baker is a solid manager. I know..the Cubs drought has been sickening. I'm not a baseball fan like I said....but I go to a few Marlins games during the year...because i'm so close to the stadium and always get offered tickets. The Scalpers down here were only asking $15-20 for some seats at PPS on Sunday..lmao....in Chicago...Cubs tickets were being scalped for a grand a piece! That's crazy....but Chicago fans are loyal...you gotta respect that.

Anyway...I know enough about baseball to know that the Marlins have solid bats..and damn good pitching themselves. Even though most aren't giving us a chance in the series....I think those people are way off. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see the series go 7 games.

    Who's your team Devanshu?

Well, I like a lot of teams...but if I had to pick, I'd say the braves. They have a solid offense and defense(not considering their recent loss) and I really like chipper jones. The guys got a lot of skill. I used to like the indians back when david justice and manny ramirez were in because they were unstoppable. I havent been to a baseball game in a while...maybe I should get those cheap tickets

  8. All I can say about the A's vs. Red Sox game is they deserved to lose.
Don't get me wrong I'm a A's fan but to leave the bases loaded like they did and not get a hit is pathetic!
I'm done with baseball this season,I'm following football and basketball season will start soon.

    Just saw that...DAMN IT CUBS!!!

I thought that the two run homer by sosa was pretty impressive... although this game wasnt nearly as impressive as yesterday's Sox v. A's or Colts V. Bucks.

    :P :P

I stopped watching it when the score was 12-2 cubs because the only way marlins would come back would be by hitting at least 2 grand slams and thats very rare.

Defense, did you see the brutal beating the cubs gave to the fish? I went to lafayette for the purdue game(which was awesome) but came home just in time to finish the game. Apparently, Mariners never had a chance.
    Quote Quote
  19. Yea, of course I saw it...I had a chance to go to the game...but I ended up not going..because I didn't find out until real late the tickets came through....and already had other plans. PPS is only ten minutes from me...so traffic isn't a problem when I want to go to a game. I was thinking about going tomorrow...but i'll be at a sports bar most of the afternoon for the NFL. Of course, i'll be watching the Marlins game too...tough loss...D-Train gave up that Grand Salami in the 1st and it was good riddins from there. Well..the Cubs won three striaght..now the Marlins gotta do the same and win three straight! :P

Highly unlikely...they'll probably choke. If they do, then its cubs in the WORLD SERIES baby(probably against the yanks though )!!

I'll probably be doing the nfl thing all day too while trying to study for my huge bio midterm I have the next day.

Dont get your hopes up defense...the loss today was was very small(well actually it was a shutout) but the cubs will come back.

  22. lol....never quit..that's the motto here. Quitters never win and winners never quit...that's always been my favorite addage. I'll tell you this much..when we take that game on Tuesday....the pressure is immensely on the Cubs.

Can you believe that I not only passed up one person with a hookup with tickets...but TWO PEOPLE! I got a call this morning from another friend teling me to get ready for the game because they got me an extra ticket! I thought about it...but I already had plans..and usually go to a BIG local sports bar down here with some friends...drink countless pitchers of Beer and enjoy all the NFL games on a zillion different TV's.

That tells you how much of a baseball fan I am, huh? Some people woulda killed for tickets to this game...and I passed them up from two people. There were alot of great ending games in the NFL today and I saw the ends of all of them...so I had a great time as usual. I've been doing this with the same people for a few years on Sunday's....and when I didn't get a definitive answer on tickets from my first source...I figured i'd just pass the tickets up if they came about. If I were a bigger baseball fan I woulda never even thought twice about passing the tickets up....you'd think i'd get more psyched because that last game vs the Giants I went to and that was about as exciting and action packed as it gets.

Anyway....i'm gonna enjoy watchin the next two MARLINS WINS ON T.V..just like I watched the last TWO WINS....MARLINS...2003 WORLD SERIES CHAMPS!!!! :P

I dont know if I would've killed for those tickets...since it was a boring game anyway. I like NFL better too but like playing baseball. Speaking of good NFL games...did you see the colts game? I caught the end of it and boy was that close! Anyway...about the game on tuesday, YOU WISH! :P
    Quote Quote
  24. Yep...I caught the end of that game and every other close game. The sports bar I go to is unlike any other i've ever seen ANYWHERE! It's a sportbar but also a Dog Race Track. Get a load of this..there are T.V's throughout the entire place....i'd say at least 200! Then towards the back where the actual bar is...there are a couple of big screen T.V's....as well as big hanging T.V's. And if that isn't enough...every single table in the entire place has its own 13' Color T.V! ...lol....it's crazy man....All of them with different games....and you have your own personal T.V per table. So you can switch between games or watch the main games on the bigger T.V's.

The Dolphins are the home team..so they are always on at least one of the Big Screen T.V's...and the next biggest games of the week are on the others. When they started flashing the last couple of minutes scores..I saw the GREEN BAY game was close as hell ..as well as the Indy game and Dallas games. So I switched one at a time between them..and caught all the endings....it's like that almost every week..because there's almost always at least a couple of games that either go into Overtime or at least come down to the last couple of plays or play. It's the shit to say the least. :P

Oh..and as far as the Marlins go...nah..I don't wish...we're gonna take it in Chi-Town...look out! Man...the cubbies fans gotta be SICK to their stomachs..we have a World Series championship under our belts...while the Cubbies have NOTHING under theirs but dust and past time...as well as damn near 100 years longer in existence...that's SAD with a capital S ...A....D.

Wow, that is a cool bar. I wish I could go to something like that but I'm not old enough

The best I've got is four flat screens in my friends basement with different games....and as for the the marlins, we'll see. Even if they win, there's no way the yanks are losing.
    Quote Quote
  26. Yea..the bar is definitely amazing. Too bad your just a young buck....not too many places card down here anyway though.....so you'd probably be alright.

WHAT THE F***!!! WHO IN THE HELL GIVES UP 8 DAMN RUNS IN ONE INNING? IF IT WEREN'T FOR THAT STUPID KID, THEY WOULDVE BEEN IN THE PLAYOFFS!!

Seriously...bottom of the eighth, up 3 zilch, how do you screw that up? Oh well, it should make the last game more interesting. It isnt over defense...we can still come back from this embarrasement, oh wait..no we cant. This has to be one of the worst perfomences/best comebacks I have ever seen. I'm soooooo pissed.

    Quote Quote
  30. HEY MAN..you gotta give props to the Marlins! That was a SERIOUS COMEBACK! And as far as the kid goes..first...I have doubts that Alou would of caught the ball to begin with..and regardless...even if Alou gets that out...the Marlins still went on a rampage...so I honestly don't think that woulda made any difference.

As it is..the Cubs are reeling BIG TIME! Anybody that has played ANY sport competitively..knows that the most dangerous team is one with nothing to lose. And that is EXACTLY what the Marlins are. A team that nobody gave respect to or a chance to. A team who was supposed to get swept by the Giants....instead we whipped the Giants asses. And noone still gave the Marlins a chance. I read and heard it was gonna be another sweep for the CUBS...LMAO....the Cubs are up shits creek now....they are a team that was SUPPOSED TO WIN AND WIN EASILY...a team that was supposed to go to the World Series. Well...don't look now..but the Marlins are the team with the momentum and the team on fire.

It's a ONE GAME SERIES NOW..and I don't care if you take a minor league team vs. the Cubs...in ONE GAME..ANYTHING can happen. The Cubs are the ones with all the pressure....the Marlins weren't supposed to be here....so THEY SAID.....and now look. The Marlins have NO PRESSURE at all...if they lose...people will say that they figured the Marlins would lose...if the Marlins win...then people will be stunned. But the truth is..at this point...people are stunned anyway.....so the Marlins are gonna just make them MORE STUNNED!

    WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWW

    MARLINS #1 :P
