This is my first attempt at making a guide so please beware. I decided to make it because it's a nice way to help me remember some of the things that I've learned at vcd help.com. The information in this guide is nothing new but it just describes the method that I have been using to convert DivX and Xvid to DVD. In many cases in the guide, I have included links to other guides that descroibe the particular techniques with greater detail. You will still need to refer to another guide for the Authoring step but this method has been useful for me in preparing the MPEG2 file that is ready for Authoring. In addition I have included a zip files that contains many of the free software tools needed for conversion.
I apologize for the spacing of the pictures but I'm using a funny web making program that I could not seem to make the final webpage look like it did in the program. If images are missing, you many need to reload the page.
