  1. Hi,

I'm experiencing a strange problem trying to convert some mpeg files to dvd using ffmpegX. What I want is to simply encode the audio into mp2 224/48000 (leaving the video untouched). However, I keep getting incomplete mp2 files that only contain ten minutes, fifteen minutes of audio. Synching and sound is perfect after I've authored the files in sizzle.

I get different terminal error message; at times it's a 'segmentation fault' sometimes it's a 'bus error' and what's really strange is that I get different error messages when I try and encode the same file! I've tried just demuxing the audio/video and gotten perfect results sometimes - and sometimes not - but I want to resample the audio to 224/48000 to be able to play it on a standalone DVD player.

    Any advice/help greatly appreciated!

    MJ

Actually, I've been following your instructions to the letter! That's how I first started using ffmpegX. I trotted off to your guide and did exactly as you instructed which is why the thing is so baffling. Do you want me to send you the entire terminal log? I can do so privately since I don't really want to take up space with it here. I should add I'm running Panther on a G4 500/AGP with 256MB memory.
