  1. How many blades can they stick on one shaving head? Is this the most blatant peice of hype marketing coupled with duopoly power going?? one of the single most expensive things I used to buy was razor blades!!

gillette quarto = 4 blade shaving head...

    septo= new seven head shaver

    experimental = gillete hydra

  2. Does go a bit too far. I personally use a Gilette Mach 3 razor when I shave and so far it's done an excellent job.

Be interesting to see how far they go in terms of blades.

    I didn't think Wookies shaved.

I use a Norelco electric or a disposible blade when I'm in the mood.

I think Wookies do. The hair around the lips is perfectly trimmed.

Mach3 here too, but as I get this sort of stuff cheap, I'll be giving it a try tomorrow - I'll post the results.

  10. I'm always reminded of the first world war triplanes, you know, the red baron, when I see these. But if they carry on you will shave your face in 1 go but you will need two hands to "wield" the blade.

I might buy one. I use a Gilette Mach 3 on my head, and a Gilette Sensor for my face. I can definitely tell a difference in comfort, between the 2 blade Sensor and 3 blade Mach 3, on my head. On my face, I actually prefer the Sensor.

I also use a Remington electric shaver sometimes, when I skip a day shaving. Then, I clean up and get that baby's butt smoothness with the Mach 3.

Anything more then a single blade will destroy my face. So the new one should be called the Gillette World of Pain as far as I'm concerned.

Oh yeah the next one will feature 6 blades, but they alternate so that only 3 at a time are in use.

Stick with the Mach3 - just tried the Wilkinson and it's not what it's cracked up to be:

    1) The handle feels strange (esp after about 5 years of Mach3)
    2) The blades have stupid protection wires over them
    3) The blades' housing covers the back of the blades so any hair and soap residue can't be washed out easily
    4) Shaves no closer than the Mach3
    Regards,

    Rob

    Bic Steel, myself.

A lot of people get ingrown hairs from electrics. "Razor bumps". Kinda clip them too short and the hole the hair gtows out of blocks up somehow.

I think this is worse on young people. I got them in my 20s or so.

    Cheers,

    George

  22. I've used a few various makes of electric shaver (some quite expensive) and none come close to the shave you get using a good razor (like the Mach 3 or similar).

I only use an electric shaver now if I am in a real hurry.

  23. Ya and electric shavers dont get nearly as close as a Mach 3 when shaving your balls

Mach 3 here all the way.

Sometimes. I get a close shave as long as I keep the face wet and shave as if it were a razor (same motions, etc... don't do that circular crap they suggest in the manual).

  25. I have the scruffy Stephen Dorff look 8)

Only shave once a week...and even longer if I get lazy...then it's like Cecil B. Demented

will use any cheap disposable razor - doesn't matter to me
As long as there's shaving cream

Mach 3 here. Works fine so I doubt that I will be moving up to anything with more blades.

Electric razors don't cut, they pull. I had one that I used for a few weeks before I got the straight edge and I'll never go back to it, it hurts too much when it yanks the hairs out.

sensor excel as of three weeks ago, and before that a 'plus' something I used the decade and a half since I started.
Still don't know why I changed, feel no difference whatsoever.
All hype, I'm gonna switch back.
