  1. i downloaded a movie (the matrix) and its 1 gigabyte in size. i changed it from avi to mpg with tempgenc and now i want to burn it to vcd. if i do this with nero, how can i burn the movie? when i try it says "insert a disk with sufficient space". so what do i do?

  2. Take a look to the left under "Edit" and read the sections on cutting. Although TMPGenc can/should be able to cut several people have had trouble using it

I cut with bbMPEG. A few more steps but it always works. Let me also add that if you plan to burn with Nero I would use VCDImager to make an Image of each MPEG and then burn the Image (Nero has sometimes has problems burning SVCD or really non-standard xVCD).

  3. TMPGEnc
Under File, Mpeg tools...select Merge & Cut.

Select add from menu on right.

Select the movie you want to cut and open.

double-click movie as it appears in the add & cut screen.

From there you can select where you want to cut it. Hit run after choosing what you want to name it.."CD1" for example, and there you have.

It takes a little while, about 10-15 minutes.

  4. Is cut with TMPGEnc lossless? I assume it's just pure cut and no recompression applied on the original MPEGs.

    Thanks,

  5. No new compression needed. You just cut the first half from the main file (say 45 minutes). Then, you have to also do the second half (next 45 minutes). It doesn't do that for you.

  6. The TMPGEnc mpeg cutter does exactly what it sounds like -- it cuts the mpeg. It does not re-encode it.

    Thus, it is lossless.

    Regards.

  7. Hi, I have tried using TmpgEng. but the cut files always have a couple seconds of sound missing at the end of the file. could u tell me how to solve it? thanks

  8. After you have chosen the movie to cut, and double-clicked it, hit play and then pause immediately after. This just seems to load it up and better and may be the reason for your problem.
Then, just go about cutting it like you normally would.
    Hope that helps.
