  1. Just and odd thing that has been bugging me for the past week... every time i convert avi to svcd/mpg2 the ouput file after conversion has no extention... just filename.file .... the file does contain the video however all my authoring prgrams are rejecting the file(s) because it does not have the mpg extention... does anyone know why they are not being named .mpg while still containg the .mpg video?

IF i where to downlaod an svcd/mpg2 file and leave it on my hard drive it still keeps its extention of .mpg and all my old mpg files are fine.. its just the ones from my TMPGEnc conversion that have no extention.

Interesting. When you save the TMPGEnc file, do you specify it is to be an MPEG file, or are you selecting "All Files"?

  3. Excellent idea lol.... that was the problem thanks...

When it asks you what to name the file it will default to the source video filename.. i always change this... and have never deleted the .mpg.... untill my last few conversions.. lol.
