  1. I recently installed a SONY DRU-500AX in my system, but when I try to burn anything with this drive with Nero, it says insert the DVD media... The drive works fine, because I just copied The Hulk using CloneDVD.... My Windows XP system does the same thing as Nero... When I put a blank DVD+-R disk in the drive, it doesn't recognize the disk unless it is a commercial DVD... With Nero, I was making a compilation to burn onto DVD, and this happened.... Please help me someone!!!!

It might be your ASPI. Since you have Nero, run Nero Infotool and see what it says about your ASPI.
If it says it's corrupted, download and run ForceASPIdrivers. Check the tools section of this website for where to download this.
Also, check this website for more info about ASPI: http://www.nu2.nu/aspi/

  3. Ok, I did what you said, and the first time I ran Nero Infotool, it said my system Aspi were missing, so I download Force Aspi, and installed it, then ran Infotool again.... This time it says my system Aspi are corrupted... Now what??? And it still says there is no disc in drive, even though there is a blank DVD-r in it... HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!

  5. I had the same problem with my Sony Dru510A. Upgraded Nero and problem solved. You might also check and see if there is a firmware upgrade for your drive.

Did you have Nero installed before you installed the drive ?
It seems a bit flakey sometimes if this is the case ( I had a similar problem with my Pioneer A06).
Try uninstalling Nero, and INCD if you've got it installed (could also try the un-install tools on the nero site to forcibly remove any corrupt drivers).
Then in the windows control panel, remove the drive from XP.
Reboot, (wondows should find your drive again), then reinstall Nero.

Try it without incd first, then install incd later.

might work, I dunno, it worked for me tho !

Also, try turning of the inbuilt windows burning software (right click on drive in my computer, there should be a tab labled cd writing or something like that anyway)

  9. Thanks you guys... I found out what my problem was... The simple "reboot" step that I skipped after updating my ASPI....
    Now, my drive works correctly....
